The English FA have asked FIFA if they can play with the leather ball that was used in the 1966 World Cup at this year’s tournament in Brazil.

Spokesperson for the FA said today: “The only realistic chance we have of getting a result in Brazil this year is if we can play with the old heavy leather ball.

It weighs a ton and it suits our way of play. There’s no way the likes of Messi and Neymar will be able to cope with it.”

It is understood the English players will not be able to cope with this year’s official Adidas ball that will be used at the World Cup.

Talkdinho, our sports correspondent said this morning: “The Brazuca ball is designed for flight, trajectory, and accuracy developed especially to add nice flowing football between the players on the pitch.

Obviously that rules out England so I can see why they would want to revert back to the ball used in the ’66 World Cup.”

Dafty News contacted FIFA for a statement but we were told by their PR team that all members were busy playing FIFA 13 and plotting on which country they should fuck next by awarding them the position of being hosts.
