Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke ‘Ripped Off’ Marvin Gaye

Robin Thicke (Blurred Lines) Versus Marvin Gaye (Got to Give it Up).

Pharrell Williams not so Happy after being ordered to pay £4.85m (approx $7.3m) with his sidekick Robin Thicke for copying Marvin Gaye track.

The 2013 hit Blurred Lines was said to infringe the copyright of Marvin Gaye’s 1977 hit Got to Give it Up.

After a week of deliberation, the eight-panel jury decided the 2013 hit was indeed an infringement on Marvin Gaye’s song.

Marvin Gaye’s children sued Williams and Thicke with the courts favouring Marvin Gaye.

Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke denied the infringement.
