It is indeed a very proud moment for Dafty News as one of our columnists has launched her way to what many are predicting will be book writers’ stardom

Wee Granny Bella, our favourite and most-loved columnist, finally took the plunge to author status when she launched her Kindle version of her hilarious bedtime stories. The paperback version will be out next week and Dafty News will be running a competition to win copies of her paperback pocket rocket of adult fairy tale beauties.

Spokesperson for Dafty News said last night: “Of all the columnists we have there is no doubt Wee Granny Bella is the most popular. Her parody bedtime stories are the funniest thing on Dafty News and we are very proud that we have found another star in the making.”

The frail Scots witty pensioner hopes to cash in on her success with her first ever book.

She told Dafty News: “This bloody government are forcing us pensioners to heat or eat this winter. We cannot afford both so hopefully my wee book will bring in some much-needed cash that will keep my feet warm, be able to boil the kettle for my wee cups of tea, and buy enough biscuits that will give me the energy to continue entertaining.”

Dafty News can confirm there are more plans on the way for Wee Granny Bella, real name Isabella McLaughlin, with her growing fan base.

Dafty News said: “It would be nice for fans of wee Bella to interact with her; so there are moves already being made on the social network side of things and we are in negotiations right now about the possibility of Wee Granny Bella merchandise.”

Bella’s book project did not hold back any on the quality and the seriousness when they recruited famous cartoonist and illustrator Woody from Woody’s Cartoons to design the book cover.

Our insider said: “Woody’s Cartoons are the finest you’ll find anywhere in the world so this has been a great coup for the makers of Wee Granny Bella’s Bedtime Stories book. The class in the graphic has been detailed right down to every detail. What you see is wee Granny Bella’s caricature and it captures her brilliantly. It is a stick on to help sell the book.”
